WASHINGTON — With a call to arms in the fight for bona fide inclusion in the American workplace, current and former African American CEOs and vice presidents and other senior executives convened for their annual Executive Leadership Council in the nation’s capitol.
Actors Boris Kodjoe and Gabrielle Union served as the hosts of the ELC’s blue carpet and Recognition Gala, respectively, at the Gaylord Hotel and Resort at the National Harbor in Prince George’s County, Md., just outside of Washington, D.C. Charlie Wilson electrified the crowd (literally) as the gala entertainment while Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick went hard as the after-party performers.
Edward Lewis was bestowed the Alvaro L. Martins Heritage Award during the Recognition Gala. Christopher Williams was the recipient of the Achievement Award, while Sodexo was recognized as the Corporation of the Year.
