Natina Reed, one of the stars of the all-female group Blaque, has passed away at age 32 from a violent car accident.
According to media reports, Reed was hit while walking on Lawrenceville Highway in a northern Atlanta suburb, just a day before her 33rd birthday. Police are unable to determine as of yet why she was walking on the highway at all, much less that late at night.
Reed is is survived by a son fathered by rapper Kurupt.
A former protege of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes from the super group TLC, Reed came to fame as part of the Atlanta-based group Blaque in 1999 with the release of their debut single, “808″. Lopes signed the group to her production company, Left Eye Productions. She also starred in the film “Bring It On” alongside Gabrielle Union in 2000.
Eerily enough, Reed was the same age as Left Eye when she was killed, and both dynamic women were killed by automobiles. It is being reported that Reed was indeed with Left Eye when the vehicle she was driving toppled and killed the TLC rapper.
The outpouring of sadness from Reed’s premature death has been intense and unrelenting.
