Toni Braxton Says Oprah Winfrey Was ‘Mean’ to Her

Toni Braxton Says Oprah Winfrey Was 'Mean' to Her

It’s considered an essential rite of passage for our nation’s biggest stars to sit down for a tell-all interview with Queen of all Media, Oprah Winfrey. And, although most stars are more than happy about the power boost such an interview brings, a few are left with a sour taste in their mouths. Unfortunately, for Toni Braxton that was the case when she sat on Winfrey’s couch.

In a clip from Braxton’s upcoming “Behind The Music” special, which airs tonight, Oct. 29, the singer talks about her interview with Winfrey, which took place during the height of her first bankruptcy scandal, and she explains that she felt disgraced and belittled by Winfrey.

“She was so frickin’ mean to me, I was in shock. I couldn’t believe it because I loved her so much. I admired her and looked up to her and she pretty much reprimanded me,” Braxton explained.

“She said, ‘I hear you have Gucci flatware; I’m Oprah Winfrey and I don’t have Gucci flatware…’ You didn’t have Gucci flatware because you didn’t wanna buy it; it’s not because you couldn’t afford it,” she added.

Squeezing her thumb and forefinger together, Braxton recalls, “She made me feel this big.”

Winfrey has yet to comment on Braxton’s revelation, but, hopefully, they can squash this beef —  maybe during another high-profile interview. And, Braxton’s not the only star that has been rubbed the wrong way by Winfrey. Check out some other famous Winfrey feuds below. – nicholas robinson
