For 16 years, Oprah and nightly talk show host David Letterman were involved in a feud, which Letterman says started over a joke in which he and his girlfriend tricked a waiter into thinking Oprah would cover their bill. The two TV hosts finally squashed their beef in 2005 when Oprah appeared on his show to publicly bury the hatchet.
