Saks on Fifth Avenue took extra precautions and boarded up the windows pre-Sandy.

It seems that in the midst of cleaning up in Sandy’s aftermath, some shameless and covetous residents in the northeast are taking advantage of the devastation and damage. At least 13 people have been arrested in New York City for looting. It’s a small number in comparison to the number of Twitter confessions. Brooklyn and Queens have been the biggest targets.

It gets even crazier; the charlatans posted photos of their ill-gotten gains and bragged about them on Twitter. Can you say evidence? They’ve even created hashtags: #SANDYLOOTCREW and #SANDYSHOOTCREW.

As if running to safety from a storm wasn’t enough, the citizens and business owners in New York have to keep the ratchet away from their belongings.

This writer hopes some of the fodder is no more than a Halloween prank. Wishful thinking?
