Before he met Michael Jackson and collaborated for Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad, Quincy Jones had created the opening score (musical theme) for “Sanford and Son,” the soundtrack for The Wiz (that’s how he and Michael met) and many other movies, and he worked with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. He was already a revered icon within the industry. But working with MJ made Quincy an icon and household name worldwide — as well as rich beyond his wildest imagination.
