Jovan Belcher and athletes whose guns hurt their careers1. Scottie Pippen:

The former Chicago Bulls superstar was registered to own a gun, but under Illinois law, even if a person has a firearm owner’s identification card, the person is not licensed to carry the weapon. Only police officers are allowed by law to carry weapons. Police recovered a fully-loaded, .380 caliber semi-automatic holding seven rounds of ammunition in his vehicle that was illegally parked in front of a restaurant in downtown Chicago. Pippen was was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, a misdemeanor.


Pippen, who also later was busted for drunk driving in Houston, posted the $100 cash bond and was let go.
