Of course, Hammer’s second album was the biggest pop-rap album of all time (damning with faint praise, we know) but by the time Suge Knight moved him over to Death Row Records, his career was frozen solid. Nothing ever came of the pairing, and one has to wonder what Suge was smoking to think Hammer’s career still had legs in 1996.
