Rihanna irked by Whitney Houston comparison
Although she’s an admitted “bad girl”, Robyn Rihanna Fenty wants fans to know that she’s no drug abuser like the late Whitney Houston. Rihanna, 24, was enjoying one of her favorite pastimes this weekend when a fan decided to compare her to the fallen songstress, a comparison she obviously didn’t appreciate.
“Friday night getting a lil fuzzy,” Rihanna captioned a photo of herself lounging and smoking marijuana for her 3.5 million followers. “She’s going to end [up] like Whitney if she keeps doing drugs like she’s doing now,” a fan commented under the photo. After being blasted by the singer’s fan club for the comment, Rihanna responded herself; “Yea cuz Whitney overdosed on a joint. F-ck outta here you weak b-tch!!,” said the songstress.
And while Rihanna doesn’t appreciate her love for cannabis being compared to that of Houston’s battle with drug addiction, she previously said she’d “love” to play her in a biopic.
“That would be something, that I would have to give my entire life to do, because I would really want to pull it off. That’s a huge, huge role, and whoever does it has to do a good job. My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song — ‘I Will Always Love You.” It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really she’s partly responsible for me being here in this industry.”
Rihanna was a top contender for Houston’s biopic along with Jordin Sparks, Meagan Good, Vivica Fox and Brandy.
