Quentin Tarantino knows how to effectively use popular music in his films, and he has an obvious fetish for 70s pop culture, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the soundtrack to this underrated 1998 blaxploitation homage is full of classic soul and funk. The Brothers Johnson’s “Strawberry Letter #23,” Minnie Riperton’s “Inside My Love,” Randy Crawford’s “Street Life” are among the gems featured.
