Superproducer Timbaland is making sure to make some noise in 2013.
After having a relatively quiet last few years, Timbo has already made waves in the new year. He released four new tracks earlier this month, he’s become an investing partner in 50 Cent’s lucrative SMS Audio brand, and is slated to serve on the company’s board of directors; and he’s currently producing Justin Timberlake‘s highly anticipated comeback album, The 20/20 Experience, which is due in March of this year. The project’s first single, “Suit & Tie” was released just two weeks ago.
And now, Timbaland has joined hip-hop mogul Jay-Z‘s famed Roc Nation label. The news was made public via Jay’s Life + Times website.
“‘And I Won’t Surrender It With Beats By TIMBALAND’ 01.30.2013 Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family,” a post on Life + Times site read. Along with the posting was a photo of the stars together in a recording studio.
Timbaland and Jay have worked together numerous times over both artists’ storied careers. Most recently, Jay guested on the aforementioned Timberlake single “Suit & Tie.”
