‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ movie review

'A Good Day to Die Hard' movie review

Stars: Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch,  Mary Elizabeth Winstead

New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) has been battling and outwitting terrorists for 25 years, but he doesn’t seem any worse for the wear. The Die Hard franchise, on the other hand, is getting a bit, well, stodgy and boring. All the requisite Die Hard  pyrotechnics and special effects are there, with the action taking place on Russian soil this time. McClane’s handsome young son, Jack (Jai Courtney), is in a pile of trouble, and McClane has a new nemesis to trade pithy remarks with, but it alls adds up to disappointment for any moviegoer looking for more than a lot of stuff blowing up — no matter how spectacularly shot it is. Not a lot to “yippie-ki-yay” about here. –p.d. lee
