It was a simple plot that produced big laughs and launched careers. Ice Cube and DJ Pooh collaborated on the script about a young man (Ice Cube as Craig) who got fired on his day off. Enter Smokey (Chris Tucker), a few medicinals, a bully, a beautiful love interest and the simple premise became an instant classic to many in the black community. If you’re between the ages of 25 and 35, it’s highly likely that you know someone who can recite the movie line for line.
