Boyz N The Hood featured a better storyline and actors, but Menace II Society gave a more gripping look at the plight of young black males in the inner city. The language was vile and the violence was unrelenting, but the film opened eyes and proved that the generation who grew up with crack, AIDS and rap was in deep trouble. The story is still touching til this day.
