Queen Latifah lands big deal with Netflix; her top blockbusters

Covergirl spokeswoman, actress and rapper Queen Latifah is a mogul in the making. In addition to her successful movie career, the multitalented starlet has decided to join forces with Netflix to help further distribute films produced by her production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment.

Latifah and her business partner, Compere Shakim, have just entered into an exclusive licensing agreement for flicks in the United States with the world’s leading Internet subscription service, Netflix. Starting this spring, Netflix will get first rights when it comes to the selection of which Flavor Unit films they would like to premiere on their DVD and streaming movie service after the film’s theatrical release.

Subscribers will have exclusive access to Flavor Unit movies such as House of Bodies, starring Terrence Howard, and Percentage, starring Ving Rhames, Cam’ron and Macy Gray.

“Shakim and I are thrilled to do business with Netflix. Netflix is such a strong brand and the perfect place to showcase our projects,” said Latifah.
