Medical industry: Sequestration is expected to result in more than 50,000 health care jobs lost, according to a nonprofit representing the country’s 141 accredited medical schools, reports the bizjournals.com, including the loss of nurses, doctors and scientists.

The Washington Post predicts that the The National Institutes of Health budget, for example, will be cut by $1.5 billion. Politico.com breaks down notable health programs being slashed as well, including $51 million to the Prevention and Public Health Fund.
