J.C. Watts, a former GOP congressman from Oklahoma and quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners,Watts carried the water for the Republican Party for four terms. Unable to deliver the African American vote in significant numbers, Watts was surprised to learn that the growing neo-cons in the GOP ranks wanted nothing to do with him or acquiring the African American vote.
