Bridget Kelly laughs off fan concerns over 'cocaine' pics

Gotcha!

Roc Nation starlet Bridget Kelly posted a photo of a white powdery substance on Instagram while she was hanging out at SXSW this weekend, and her fans were understandably caught off-guard. Of course, the public believed the powder to be cocaine, and believed Kelly was another in a long line of famous folks over-sharing their addictions and rock star excesses on social media. Rihanna has made a second career out of sharing marijuana pics online, and Joe Budden seems willing to speak at-length about his history of drug abuse.

“oh ok, now it’s a party!!” she captioned under the image. “lol #ghettogastro #turnup #whitegirl @ Public School.”

But she hopped onto Twitter later, to downplay fan concerns and clarify exactly what she had Instagrammed a photo of.

“Does no one on my IG timeline ever bake? Confectioners sugar, ppl,” she tweeted. “It goes on crepes & zepolis.”

“It absolutely is lol ppl are wildin!!! RT @JournalisticJoe: @theycallmeBK that had BETTER be powdered sugar lol,” she responded to more inquiries about the substance.

While its reasonable to believe that the pics really are of sugar, Kelly obviously intended for everyone to at least think the photo was of cocaine.

A case of a young artist broadcasting her addictions? Who knows. A good way for an up-and-coming artist to snag some easy publicity? Definitely.
