MOMA Exhibit
On March 22, 2013, The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art will open an exhibit that showcases the brilliance of African American fashion designer Stephen Burrows. Spanning almost fifty years, the exhibit uses drawings, photographs, and original fashion garments to showcase Burrows’ entrenchment in American style. The exhibit was made possible by Target.
Burrows’ eclectic looks in the 1970s had the New York Times coining him “the brightest star of American fashion.” Celebs like Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, and Cher were staples on his list of patrons.
