It’s no doubt Vidal Sassoon loved his son David, 41, whom he adopted in 1975 when the boy was three-years-old. David, of African American and Asian descent, was disinherited from the hair mogul’s $130 million fortune along with his dad’s three ex-wives (Elaine Nations, Beverly Sassoon and Jeanette Sassoon), saying they shall “take nothing.” Sassoon passed away in May 2012 after a battle with leukemia. His will reads in part: “My son David Sassoon and his issue are hereby disinherited and shall take nothing under this will, and for the purposes of the will, shall be deemed to have predeceased me, leaving no surviving issue.”

In his 2010 autobiography, Vidal: The Autobiography, Sassoon reflected on his life with David and their difficult relationship. A mischievous child, David urinated out of a window during a fashion party, just missing late legendary talk show host Johnny Carson’s head. In his early teen years, he stole cars and abandoned them. Also, he spent some time away at reform school in Sundance, Utah.

‘There’s a certain point in my character where if I feel a situation is hopeless – walk away. Don’t torment yourself constantly. I walked away,” Sassoon says in his autobiography.

Sassoon’s daughter Catya died of a drug overdose in 2002. Eden (wearing denim in the photo) will inherit the entire fortune.
