The Long Beach native burst onto the scene in the early 1990s on Dr. Dre’s “Deep Cover”–a song with the infamous hook “1-8-7 (murder) on an undercover cop…” and after the release of his 1993 debut album, he became one of the biggest–and most maligned–rappers in hip-hop.
