I have had a long standing crush on God. Constantly trying to wiggle my way into church, I was mesmerized, once inside, by the fanfare: ladies in big, fancy hats, gloves, screaming and hollering, shaking that fan. The “Church Fan”… The one that stood out in my little baby mind is the fan that had the picture of a handsome Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. How crafty. Cross marketing was presented in the community in the form of a fan used keep you cool after spending time with the Holy Ghost and advertise for a local insurance company… The Lord, the Sabbath, and big business.
