Eric Hamilton is co-founder and chief marketing officer of Around the Way, a mobile app that allows users to pinpoint black-owned businesses in their area. Additionally, Hamilton is founder of The Web Academy an online school that recently reached its 4000th enrollment; host of “TrickedOutSite,” a Web series that performs website makeovers; and founder of LAUNCH, a tech incubator focused on inspiring, guiding, and launching technology companies from the dorm room. What part of NYC do you live in? How long have you lived in NYC I have been in the NYC area since summer of 2008. Harlem has adopted me. Why do you live in NYC? I live in the NYC area mainly for access to opportunity and great people. I am from Detroit. NYC & Detroit are very similar. Both have a lot of hard-working people who hustle hard. Access to like minded people. Who is your favorite New Yorker? I had the opportunity to co-host Barbara Corcoran [NYC realtor from ABC’s “Shark Tank”] at an event last spring. She’s such a nice woman. Very humble, yet, extremely confident and accomplished.
