When radio legend Tom Joyner invited Jamie Foxx aboard the Fantastic Voyage 2013, he didn’t know what he was in for. Foxx not only ripped through a set of his greatest hits on the opening night of the 14th annual cruise through the Caribbean, he also invited a host of surprise guests to join him on stage and perform their greatest hits, including Trey Songz, Too Short, Tank, MC Lyte and comedian Rodney Perry.
Foxx also facilitated a dance-off between stars Jacque Reid and Darrin Henson from Showtime’s “Soul Food” fame, which inspired full-throated ovation from the packed deck of the Carnival Glory.
Later on that evening, the boat was serenaded by the immortal tunes of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. At about 2 a.m., the Ladies of Rage blessed the mic as Lil Kim, Rage, Yo Yo and others took over the ship. And this was just day one.
