Batman — Another case where the director (Tim Burton, who also directed the hilarious special-effects comedy Beetlejuice the year before) cast the perfect characters, Michael Keaton and Kim Basinger as the reclusive and enigmatic hero and reporter-love interest, respectively. But it was Jack Nicholson as the original Joker who pulled this film into worldwide box office acclaim.
