4. Superman — This was the movie that started it all. 1978’s Superman remains one of the greatest superhero movies ever made with the perfectly cast Christopher Reeves, Margot Kidder and Gene Hackman as the hero, love interest and villain, respectively. Reeve embodied the Superman role so completely that it was hard seeing him in future film roles.
