Ralph Lauren, 73, is cruising East Hampton in Long Island in his silver $769,000 sports car. Fashion royalty, Lauren has a silver RUF CTR-3 Clubsport — dubbed the Porsche 911 on steroids — which was delivered by a cargo plane. According to Ruf Automobile GmbH, “The limited-production car has a 777 horse- power, so it was transported in a Lufthansa Boeing 777, which everyone thought was great.” Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis. The flashy ride has a top speed of 238 mph and goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
A motor enthusiast, Lauren is regarded as one of the world’s top collectors. His impressive collection includes a 1938 Bugatti, a 1958 Ferrari Testa Rossa and a 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago, which was unveiled at a special exhibit in Paris called “The Art of the Automobile: Masterpieces from the Ralph Lauren Collection.”
