Following operation after operation, her face began to enlarge and become disfigured. However, she still felt beautiful. She had so many surgeries that the surgeons she frequently visited refused to do any more work on her. One surgeon even suggested that her obsession could be a sign of a psychological disorder and that she should seek help. Her own parents could barely recognize her. Her drastic change eventually led them to take her to be evaluated by a professional. The doctor concluded that she was not in a healthy mental state and that she suffered from a severe self-image or body dysmorphic disorder. After the evaluation, she began therapy for her disorder. However, she felt these treatments were too expensive and stopped them altogether.
After ending her psych therapy, Mioku found a doctor who was willing to give her silicone injections and reverted to the plastic surgeries again. The doctor also gave her a syringe and silicone of her own so that she could self-inject as needed. When her supply of silicone ran out and she couldn’t afford more, Mioku resorted to injecting cooking oil into her face.
