Most national media outlets have a tendency of building people up only to tear them down. Charles Ramsey became famous by being the hero with the intriguing interview. But now he is quickly becoming known as the hero who has a criminal past.

In an attempt to tarnish Ramsey’s name, the Smoking Gun has dug up incidents that occurred over a decade ago. According to their reports, Ramsey was convicted three times on domestic violence charges against his wife in the ’90s and convicted on drug and trespassing charges; in 2003, he served eight months in prison on a felony abuse charge.

However, Ramsey hasn’t been arrested since he was released from prison that same year. The Smoking Gun‘s report has no substantial relevance today. He served his time and shouldn’t be judged for what he did over a decade ago. More importantly, we must continue to commend Ramsey for saving the lives of young women who endured years of torture and sexual abuse.

Ramsey remains a hero even when underhanded media outlets attempt to tarnish his current accomplishment.

Share your thoughts. Does the Smoking Gun‘s report change your opinion of Charles Ramsey, or do you believe he remains a hero in spite of his past?
