How to tweeze your eyebrows for the perfect arch

Tweezing and waxing are your only options for getting some semblance of control over your eyebrows! And since tweezing is the slightly less painful one, it is the method of choice for women all over the world. Tweezing gives you more control over the action. As you pluck just one hair at a time, it is hard to over-pluck your eyebrows.

Here is a quick self-help guide to tweezing your eyebrows perfectly. It isn’t impossible to achieve the “arch”; it just takes time and practice!

  1. The Right Tweezers: Choose the ones that are slanted, instead of the pointy versions. These grab at hair a lot quicker and won’t pinch your skin despite being sharp. Always get comfortable with your tweezers by plucking a few stray hairs a bit away from your eyebrows to get acquainted with how they would feel and work.
  1. Tweeze After Shower: Or you can simply wipe your eyebrows with a warm towel. The warm water works effectively at opening your hair follicles, which makes it easier to pull out hair. Once done tweezing, massage the eyebrow area with ice to numb the pain and ease the resulting inflammation.
  1. Start Right: Take an eyeliner pencil and place it along the side of your nose. Tweeze out any hair that extends past the pencil in the direction of the opposite brow. Your eyebrows should begin right above the tear duct.
  1. Know Where To End: Eyebrows should end at the 45 degree point from the corner of your eye. Put a pencil here to guide you and pluck away. Pluck out hair that is merging into a low hairline, as well.
  1. Create Your Shape: Once you know where the eyebrows are ending and starting, it’s time to get that arch! Use a soft creamy pencil and create the brow outline you desire. Remove any hair that falls above or below this stencil. Just make sure the arch isn’t too high or it will look a bit “drag-ish!”
  1. Accidents May Happen: If you pluck too much, use a brow pencil to fill in the missing parts until the hair grows back. And don’t use black pencil; dark brown is better as it looks more natural.
