The jury is still out on this one. But it turns out that Rutgers University’s new head basketball coach, Eddie Jordan, known by NBA fans as “Fast Eddie,” does not have a degree from Rutgers. However, according to Deadspin, Jordan’s bio on Rutgers’ website incorrectly stated that he earned “a degree in health and physical education.” At the time of this writing, the entry had been removed. rutgers

Following the firing of Mike Rice, Jordan was appointed the 18th head basketball coach. A member of the Rutgers University Hall of Distinguished Alumni who helped the Scarlet Knights to the 1976 Final Four, Jordan earned an NBA championship ring and brings 28 seasons of coaching experience – collegiate and professional.

“He did not receive a degree from us,” an official in the registrar’s office told the website. Jordan attended classes at Rutgers from 1973-1977 and later took classes in 1978, 1981 and 1985, Deadspin reported.

Jordan agreed to a five-year contract with a guaranteed compensation of $6,250,000.
