Appropriately, during his infamous song “Runaway (toast to the douchebags)” West went on an almost sermonic speech addressing those “powers that be” who expected West to get on stage and explain the events that took place with the paparazzi. He explained:
” … it ain’t about me humanizing myself. At what point did I become unhuman ? Or maybe I was demonized and forced to act human in that type of situation. I ain’t runnin’ for office … I ain’t kissing no [expletive] babies! I drop your your baby and you sue me and s—. I’m trying to make music … and I don’t want anybody to ask nothing else of me!”
He went on to describe the event and responded to people suggesting he laugh it of and do an “SNL” skit about it. ” This ain’t no joke. This is my life!”
