Have you ever been upset about a meal that didn’t  come out the way you expected? Sure you have. We all have. Normally these complaints lead to a free meal or the meal being recooked. However, that wasn’t the case for one Japanese worker.

A popular Japanese chef working on the German holiday island of Sylt died after he was beaten to death by two unhappy customers. Miki Nozawa, 57,  who has cooked for former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, Phil Collins and Denzel Washington, reportedly died from a brain hemorrhage after the fight on Sunday night. Rudiger Meienburg, the chief public prosecutor of Sylt where the incident happened, has confirmed that two male customers “didn’t like the dishes,” which consisted of fried noodles with vegetables and beef and asked for their money back. After being refused a refund, the disgruntled customers left without paying but that was the end of it.

According to an Australian Associated Press report, Japanese chef Miki Nozawa ran into the two drunken customers at a “table-dance bar,” and confronted them about the previous incident. That’s when the fight broke out sending the 57-year-old Nozawa  to a nearby hospital with brain trauma and internal injuries. He died while in intensive care. The specific cause of death is not yet known, though a German prosecutor has stated an autopsy is being performed.

As for the suspects, they were arrested, however, 36-year-old Thorsten and his 50-year-old buddy are free and continuing to get drunk in bars according to German media.
