Amanda Bynes has been on a roller-coaster ride of embarrassing legal troubles over the past few days thanks to her infamous marijuana-related arrest last week. The antics continued after Bynes returned home from her jail stint and had a nasty run-in with photographers in which she made a racist remark.
When Bynes returned to her Manhattan apartment this weekend, she was met by a group of photographers trying to catch shots of her face. Bynes tried to cover her face with a scarf, but one obnoxious photographer kept trying to pull the scarf off her head.
In a video published by TMZ, Bynes yelled, “you can’t touch me” several time, but then remarked, “Is it the ugly black one? Oh, there’s another ugly black man.”
When the photographer tried to call Bynes out on her remark, the actress claimed that she isn’t racist because the other photographers were ugly too.
“It’s just your face. It’s not a black thing. … There’s an ugly white one. It’s not racist.”
Whether racist in intention or not, it definitely wasn’t the smartest thing for Bynes to say. But considering how the photographers were blatantly harassing her, we can at least understand why she was frustrated with them.
