Billionaire media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, 59, delivered the keynote address at the 362nd Harvard Commencement Ceremony at Tercentenary Theatre on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Cambridge, Mass.
Wearing the institution’s iconic black cap and crimson gown, Winfrey was bestowed a coveted honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Harvard University president Drew Faust selected Winfrey as 2013 Harvard University Commencement speaker because, “Oprah’s journey from her grandmother’s Mississippi farm to becoming one of the world’s most admired women is one of the great American success stories.”
