The Network Journal‘s “40 Under Forty” Awards dinner celebrated the achievements of some of the most prominent African Americans in business. The 2013 class was honored at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Times Square June 14, and the list read like a veritable who’s who of corporate excellence. From Tawan Davis of the NYC Economic Development Corporation to Anthony Key of Uniworld Group Inc., there was no shortage of talent in the room.

Hosts Shartia Brantley (Street Signs) and Shannon Lanier (“Arise Entertainment 360″) kept things loose and light throughout the evening, and the honorees basked in the accolades and applause.

Erin Wilson, director of multicultural vendor development at Macy’s, was ecstatic at not only being recognized, but the ambition and accomplishments of all of the honorees.”I’m proud to be here amongst all of these amazing resumes! I was in awe and I’m glad to be a part of this class of people. All I can say is I’m hugely blessed and very proud to be an honoree. They’re not only people doing great things professionally, but also in their communities,” she said.

“All of the talent in that room is absolutely amazing and for me to be a part of it really thrills my heart,” said Baker Hostetler’s S. Jeanine Conley. “I’m so happy and it’s such a motivational moment. I think [we’re all] very proud of one another. It just goes to show that we have come a long way. It’s a truly remarkable celebration of what all of these people have accomplished.”
