Flavor Flav has not had a very a successful tenure as a restaurateur.

The Public Enemy hypeman famously attempted to partner with a businessman and launch Flavor Flav’s Fried Chicken in Iowa back in 2011, but after a nasty fallout with his former partner, the hip-hop star struck out on his own with the unrelated Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs. Unfortunately, that venture also unsuccessful; as the Las Vegas restaurant failed to draw customers, closed in 2012. Now, his Michigan restaurant is also likely to close soon.

The rapper’s business has been served with eviction papers as the property landlord claims that he’s been stiffed on rent for months. According to TMZ, Flav owes $25,000 in missing rent, late fees and damages.

According to court documents, the business hasn’t paid any rent since November 2012 and was late paying its monthly $3,500 in September and October.

The landlord tried to warn Flav about the owed rent back in January to no avail and decided to take legal action last week. According to TMZ, Flav claimed that he didn’t know the establishment was in serious trouble.

“I’m gonna figure out what’s going on and get to the bottom of this ASAP!” Flav reportedly said.
