‘A Family Affair’ book review

ReShondaTate-Billingsley-rev

Opening up old wounds for the sake of her daughter’s future, Lorraine discloses to Olivia who her father is.  After growing up thinking her father was deceased, this news is undeniably traumatic for her.  This new information unravels layers and layers of family secrets.  Can Olivia now accept knowing the truth about her mother’s past?  Or will the revelation of knowing who her father is be a blessing or a disruption in her life?

There is not a rule book or school on parenting.  So parents make decisions based on what they feel is in the best interest of their children.  However, harboring the truth in any situation can instantly turn disastrous and what you considered to be protection can soon become your worst nightmare. This is a compelling story that will tug at your heart.  Billingsley continues to captivate her audience while keeping them engaged in the story.   It’s always refreshing to read one of her novels, and walk away with a message to carry on in your daily life.  Kudos goes out to this divine writer on her latest novel. This was a great read!    lili
