What inspires you to show at work every day?
I love what I do.
How did you determine your career path?
I start volunteering in campaigns, from there, got a job. My first career was in Bio Research.
Describe the future skill sets that are essential to future business leaders and innovators?
Work hard and stay focused.
Define innovation methods you apply to your business and life.
I stay positive and do not allow negativity in my life.
Describe goal setting methods you use and how you evaluate you success.
I am very structured and I always look at the bottom line for whatever it is I am I trying to do/accomplish.
Who do you consider your peers in you field and a few that are great examples you can get support and best practices?
My Peers are political leaders who think like me, want to improve the lives of African Americans and want to no longer have the disparities in education, health care, and in the criminal justice system.
Which information and increased skill methods do you use?
Staying positive and having structure.
Name you favorite role models for success in two industries?
There are many. My Parents were my biggest role models. I have political leaders also: Mayor Coleman Young, Congressman Conyers, Union leaders, C. Delores Tucker, Rev. Jackson and many women in Michigan. Also Elizabeth Jackson and Ms. Rainwater have been very supportive as well.
Names three books that changed how you saw life and you recommend to others.
Notes to Myself by Hugh Prather I keep close, but there have been many books.
Community success based on what you do in the community means what to you?
When children are safe and healthier and when they can learn and get a good education I will feel better about our community as well as having guns off the streets and drugs out of our neighborhoods.
What role does music and cultural event define your self-identity?
Gospel and jazz are my favorite music and I love African American art.
