Demi Lovato’s father passes away
Singer Demi Lovato, 20, is mourning the loss of her biological father. The news of his death was confirmed on Twitter by the songstress’ older sister Dallas who wrote, “Rest in peace daddy I love you.”
Lovato fans quickly made #RIPPatrickLovato a trending topic.
Demi and her father had a tumultuous relationship that was documented in her music and the press. In the song “For the Love of a Daughter” from her Unbroken album, Lovato sang about their strained ties. And in 2010 when Lovato went to rehab to cope with an eating disorder and self-harming behavior, her father dished on it with the press much to her dismay.
Patrick Lovato’s cause of death has not been confirmed. He was reportedly suffering from throat cancer. -danielle canada
