Congressional Leaders Dedicate Frederick Douglass Statue At US Capitol
Frederick Doulgass’ seven foot tall bronze statue erected at the Emancipation Hall of the United States Visitor Center on Capitol Hill in Washington.

Vice President Joe Biden, House Speaker John Boehner and Congressional leaders, Douglass’ great great granddaughter Nettie Washington Douglass and her son Kenneth B. Morris, Jr., president of Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives (FDFI), were joined for the occasion by 600 visitors that included relatives, current and former city officials, civil and human rights activists and historians.
