NEW ORLEANS – Hip-hop heavyweights Ice Cube, DJ Drama and Bun B flew down to the Crescent City to help crown the “Coldest MC” at the Coors Light Search for the Coldest Artist showcase at the 19th annual Essence Music Festival.
The legendary rap trio bestowed local artist, B N.I.C.E., the “Coldest MC” crown at the House of Blues. B N.I.C.E. was one of two local hip-hop artists selected by fans to compete at the concert event. The event was augmented by a live performance by Pusha T and special appearance by sultry soul singer Chrisette Michele.
B N.I.C.E. (above, hoisting the “I’m the Coldest in New Orleans” placard) will now have the chance to compete against aspiring MCs from across the country during the semifinals in Atlanta.
