Stars: Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins,
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Retired CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) reassembles his team to track down a missing portable nuclear device. With three Oscars winners on board (Hopkins, Mirren and Zeta Jones) this film does not lack star power or talent. Action film veteran Willis brings his A game, and Mirren is a hoot as an MI6 assassin who puts the sexy in sexagenarian. And in a welcome departure from his normally serious, intense roles, Sir Anthony Hopkins plays the loony scientist who built the device. This is a smart film with brilliant actors (Malkovich displays good comedic timing) and the action is just what audiences want and expect from a summer film. –p.d. lee
