One more entry in the “hip-hop double albums that would’ve been better single albums” canon, Jay decided to cement his status as an A-List artist with pop music’s ultimate status symbol. Unfortunately, this overblown set wasted some inspired moments (“The Watcher,” “Excuse Me, Miss,” “Meet the Parents”) on an unfocused, too-long album.
