Chris Brown faces a new lawsuit after woman says he pushed her

8th Annual BTE All-Star Celebrity Kickoff Party

The 24-year-old woman who accused R&B singer Chris Brown of shoving her to the ground at the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, CA last month is now suing the star for battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Deanna Gines initially stated that she only wanted an apology from Brown, but claimed that she tore ligaments in her right knee and is seeking compensation.

The incident occurred after Brown’s performance at Power 105’s Powerhouse back on June 21st, when Gines said that the singer became angry and pushed her down. She later filed a police report. The owner of the Heat Ultra Lounge told TMZ that Gines had been asked by security to leave the club and that police were called due to her disruptive behavior. “Heat staff and security did what they had to do,” said the man back in June. “[Chris Brown] was a complete gentleman.”

Nonetheless, according to TMZ, Gines’ is seeking the $25,000 minimum from Brown. Gines says the assault allegedly took place after a woman that was with Brown got angry with Gines for standing too close. That’s when things got physical.

“He pushed me full force with one of his hands,” she told TMZ. “His girlfriend had his other hand.”

“There’s a lot of stuff going around on the media that’s referring to [me as a] gold digger, that I’m trying to sue him and get rich and famous,” Gines said in response to allegations that she’s lying. “That’s not what I’m trying to do at all. That’s not what I want to do. That’s not what I’m trying to do at all. That’s why I’m saying an apology, yes, that’s definitely what I want is an apology because if anything, yes, it hurt my knee physically and it also hurt emotionally at the same time. That isn’t OK and he just needs to know that it’s not OK to run around putting your hands on females, males, whoever just because of who you are. That’s not an OK thing for you to do. That’s not something that someone of your standards should be promoting to other kids, people that look up to you.”

Brown recently had his probation revoked due to a hit-and-run incident he was involved in back in May. He could face prison time for the violation.
