André 3000 may finally be serious about releasing his long-awaited solo debut.

The OutKast member has mostly only been heard on guest appearances since ‘Kast’s last album, the 2006 soundtrack album for their film Idlewild. While his former partner Big Boi has released two well-received solo projects over that time span, “Three Stacks” has been more focused on other endeavors, like films and fashion. But BET President of Music Programming and Specials Stephen G. Hill shared a brief conversation that he recently had with the enigmatic rapper and was told that music is definitely on the way.

Hill said that he ran into André backstage at Lil Wayne and T.I.’s “America’s Most Wanted Tour” concert in Washington, D.C. this past Friday night. Hill tweeted about their exchange and says 3000 indicated that there will be an album in early 2014.

“Me: hey what’s up? You got the movie coming, right? Andre 3000: yeah,” Hill tweeted. “And I got a solo album coming top of the year. Me: *droptofloor*”

Footage surfaced earlier this year of the emcee in the studio with producer Mike Will Made It, but no details were given as to what they were working on. André’s forthcoming album has no known title or release date as of yet.
