Teen superhero Kick-Ass is back to battle Red Mist, now known as The Mother——. The villain formerly known as Red Mist is hunting down the civilians who’ve decided to join Kick-Ass in vanquishing the evildoers. Hit-Girl is also on the case, until she gets taken out of the game after sneaking out in costume. Seems the powers that be don’t want anyone on the streets in a mask and costume, and after all, who can blame them? With so many people running around in masks, it’s a little complicated to sort out the good guys from the bad guys. This entertaining comic book yarn is a great way to cap off the summer. –p.d. lee
