Terrell Cowherd was attempting to break up a fight when he was held down, beaten and stabbed to death. According to NBCDFW, Cowherd, 26, was spending time with his fiancee at a Dallas hookah bar around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning when he noticed a scuffle outside.
Cowherd was attempting to bring calm to the situation when he was grabbed by Jerry Brown and stabbed by Julian Terence Martin. Cowherd was rushed to Baylor Medical Center where he later died.
Cowherd was a graduate of Prairie View A&M where he earned a degree in engineering. He recently moved to Dallas where he worked for an energy company. He was also engaged to be married.
The suspects, Brown and Martin, have both been arrested.
