At the 1990 MTV VMAs Madonna continued to bring the LGBT subculture of vogiung and the ball scene to the mainstream with an iconic performance of her aptly-titled hit “Vogue.” Nine years later, Madonna brought LGBT culture to the forefront when MTV had drag queens perform to all of her biggest hits tribute of the pop icon.
