The ongoing feud between Atlanta rap star Gucci Mane and his onetime protege Waka Flocka Flame came to a head this past weekend, with the two trading barbs in a lengthy Twitter spat. That in and of itself isn’t anything new — the former friends have been insulting each other on social media for months. But this time, other affiliates of Gucci’s Brick Squad crew got involved.
And things got fairly ugly.
With Gucci and Waka going back and forth (Waka’s disses were more indirect, but definitely about Gucci), Wooh Da Kid, OJ Da Juiceman and Waka’s cousin Frenchie all were either mentioned or joined the fray. Gucci and Frenchie’s exchange became particularly heated when Gucci was accused of paying attorney fees for rapper Young Vito.
Young Vito was found guilty of murdering Brick Squad affiliate Slim Dunkin at an Atlanta recording studio in 2011. The airing of all of the crew’s dirty laundry on social media doesn’t seem to bode well for 1017 Brick Squad. Gucci indicated that he has no more interest in repping the crew at all.
